We booked a bus through our accommodation to the biggest city of Myanmar. We paid 5000 MMK per person. For the route we needed about 7 hours. In between, however, the bus stopped short or a little longer to load or unload parcels or people. In Yangon, we were kicked out at a bus station, which is very far out of town. With the only tourist, who also sat in the bus, we shared a taxi in the city. You should not pay more than 10'000 MMK. The journey can take up to 2 hours, depending on the traffic and location of the accommodation. It took us about an hour, which in contrast to the long bus rides in the last few days was a no brainer. We were warmly welcomed to the Check in @ Downtown hotel in Chinatown. The booked double room without window was small but fine and after a week (average temperature in the night 28C) we were very happy about a air conditioning. We spent 4 nights in Yangon.
